Children, Health & Accessibility Policy
This policy applies to guests travelling with children and guests with medical, mobility or accessibility needs.
1. Children on Safari
Children are welcome on selected safaris, tours and transfers, subject to age restrictions, safety rules and supplier requirements.
Unless otherwise stated, children under 12 years may qualify for child rates where child rates are available.
Children aged 12 years and older may be charged adult rates unless otherwise indicated.
2. Children Under 8 Years
Children under 8 years may be required to travel on a private tour or private departure.
Children under 8 years may not be permitted on shared game drives unless approved in advance.
Private tours may be subject to minimum guest numbers or private vehicle rates.
3. Children 3 Years and Younger
Where children are 3 years or younger, safaris may be conducted in closed air-conditioned vehicles for safety and comfort.
Parents or guardians must advise Mthunzi Tours and Safaris of the child’s age before confirming the booking.
4. Child Rates
Where child rates are available, the child must be accompanied by an adult to qualify for the child rate.
Child rates may vary depending on the tour, accommodation provider, activity provider or reserve rules.
5. Parental Responsibility
Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times.
Children must remain seated when required and must follow guide and driver instructions.
Mthunzi Tours and Safaris may refuse participation if a child’s age, behaviour or safety risk makes the activity unsuitable.
6. Health and Medical Advice
Guests should consult their doctor or travel clinic regarding vaccinations, malaria prophylaxis, chronic medication, pregnancy, allergies and any medical conditions before travelling.
Mthunzi Tours and Safaris does not provide medical advice.
7. Medical and Mobility Conditions
Guests must advise Mthunzi Tours and Safaris before booking if they have any mobility limitations, medical conditions, pregnancy, back or neck problems, recent surgery, disability, special assistance needs or any condition that may affect participation.
Some safari vehicles, activities, roads and lodge areas may not be suitable for all guests.
Mthunzi Tours and Safaris will make reasonable efforts to assist but cannot guarantee that all tours, vehicles or locations are fully accessible.
8. Travel Insurance
Guests are strongly advised to have appropriate travel insurance, medical insurance and emergency cover for the duration of their trip.
